I recently upgraded my iPhone 3GS 16GB firmware to v3.1 and since then I can rarely receive/make calls send/receive texts or use 3G in any way.
I am in the UK on O2 and my iPhone show that I have 3G coverage and standard reception (I am based in central London), however the only way I can use my phone is to restart the phone and even then I only get around 5-10mins of being able to retrieve voicemail, texts, or use 3G coverage.
Essentially my iPhone has been reduced to an iPod touch which is very frustrating!
I have reset the network settings, performed a hard reset, removed the SIM and none of these have made a difference. My network (O2) doesn't know what the problem is and I presume that something with the 3.1 upgrade is now conflicting with my hardware.
Has anyone else experienced this as I am currently paying line rental for a device that is no longer behaving like a mobile phone?!
