Seller didn't research shipping?

I used BIN to purchase a jogging stroller on Monday of this week. I immediately paid the $36 BIN and the $32.80 shipping. Seller left FB saying how quickly I paid. I waited for it to be shipped. And waited. This morning (Thursday), I received a message from the seller stating: "Hello I had too refund you money, UPS shipping was $73.00 to ship item Its in the PayPal e-check process and you should have it refunded by Monday Sorry... never imagined the cost to be so ridiculously expensive" I'm in shock. As a seller, I always research shipping rates before I list an item. Doesn't everyone? It's not like she charged an even amount ($20, $25, $30, etc) for shipping; she charged a very specific $32.80. That implies, at least to me, that she did some looking into it before posting the item. I did leave negative FB because I felt it was warranted. I've never had any problems like this on eBay before! I'm just in shock! Did I do the right thing with the neg FB? Is there anything else I should / could do? (I'm also a bit peeved that I transferred money straight into her PayPal account on Monday and now she's spent it and is using an e-check to refund me, taking more time.)|||I'd file a non-performing seller report as well, and leave a follow up to the neg saying something like "paid invoiced amount, seller wanted more $$"|||leave a follow up to the neg saying something like "paid invoiced amount, seller wanted more $$" Ditto. The seller's reply makes it sound like you didn't pay the shipping stated in the listing.|||File the Non Performing Seller report here Link|||Wow, seller does not understand , why you are upset and left a neg? Clueless seller and the comment left by the seller shows no responsibility or remorse for their error. You can leave a follow up comment as follows: Auction won, paid, seller refunded due to seller error, unprofessional. To leave a follow up comment Link|||file the report.|||I dont think seller deserved negative, She obviously just made a mistake on the shipping price. atleast she sent you a refund and let you know what was going on. Its not like she asked for more money.- That would be different.|||I guess I have to agree with the buyer (OP). 1st of all you can send a LOT of stuff UPS Ground for that amount of money. IMAGINE what you can send UPS Ground for $73.00?? The seller just didn't get enough money for her stroller and decided to keep it or maybe found damage since it's has been stored in a garage. The $73.00 shipping cost is bogus.|||When the buyer bids on an item they are legally entering a contract. The SELLER should be held to the same standard. This same principal applies when the seller sends an invoice which is diligently paid the sale is finalized and the seller has the obligation to fullfill that transaction. If we, for purpose of example, reverse the scenario; bidder "accidentally bids too much on an item", the seller is under no obligation to render over-bid amount. So, why would the buyer in this case be obligated to spend more than invoice to finally have item shipped to them? I, as both a seller and a buyer, have expierienced both ends of this scenario and must conclude that both buyer AND seller must closely determine thier costs and examine the small print and details. The o.p. had the right to feel slighted and post negative comment. That is what it is there for.|||" dont think seller deserved negative, She obviously just made a mistake on the shipping price. atleast she sent you a refund and let you know what was going on. Its not like she asked for more money.- That would be different." Well, of course with a feedback score of 98% and those DSR scores for item as described, you would think this way. love sellers, who don't follow the rules/policies defending other bad performance from a fellow seller.|||onelovingheart, you describe a USED pair of Junior jeans as "Great used condition, look and feel like new. The hollister tag on the back of the pants- as shown in pic (light brown thing) has wash wear damage. Which is not noticeable at all when worn." Listed in Womans instead of junior, since they are a size 9 junior. The jeans are either new or used in excellent, good condition, they can not and should not be described as "feel like new" Any "Wash & Wear Damage" should not be stated as "feel like new". The word new manipulates a buyer's search. Describe items accurately, is required by Ebay.|||I believe the jeans were described to a T. Her title only says "Hollister Jeans Size 9" so there are NO words in her title that could manipulate anyones word search. Search does NOT pick out words in the description~only the title. She clearly states they have fading from washing. Good enough for me. Buyers need to read DESCRIPTION which they will in her auction as she doen't describe them in the title.|||I meant to say FACTORY fading and distress. My sis just paid over $70.00 to get a pair of jeans with holes and fading.~~BTW they look great. She's a woman and wears junior sizes as well.|||" Search does NOT pick out words in the description~only the title." This is not the case , if the potential buyer clicks Title and Description. Saying a used item feels and looks new is not OK. Link If a buyer looking for a new pair of jeans, they don't want some listing popping up with the words "Like New "Feels New" etc. "You can say Excellent Used Condition"|||"has wash wear damage. Which is not noticeable at all when worn" This does not mean "looks and feels new". The jeans are a junior size and should be listed as such . Yes many including my self can wear a junior size, but again they should be listed in the correct category Juniors , NOT womans. They are two different sizing and fits. With the seller's DSR stars, it would appear more than one buyer feels the seller does not accurately describe the items, Ebay will too when they review the DSR stars.
